Do you think you have what it takes to be in a Collective schools band?

We are now recruiting evangelists who are also talented singers, rappers, dancers and team leaders for September 2008.

FAQ's:

How old do you have to be to work in a schools band?

Innervation usually looks for people between 18 and 25 to be in schools bands. There is no age restriction for team leaders although we would expect only people over 20 would have the kind of experience we are looking for in a leader.

How do I apply to be in a schools band?

First download an application form and then post or email it to our office. You will then be called to an audition or interview some time between May and August 2008 in Manchester.

What happens if I get in?

If you are accepted to be part of the next new Collective schools band you will need to be ready to start full time work with Innervation in Manchester in October 2008. After training until Christmas you will move down to the area you will be working in and work there for two years.

Where would I be based? Is there any choice on that front?

You wouldn't really have a choice about where you go as we try to get to know the abilities and personalities of all our trainees and then decide who goes where after the training has started, we can take your choices into account but we believe its most important to get the right team together.

Would I be financially self-sufficient or should I look for external financial support?

All our staff raise their own salaries and are employed on a voluntary basis. If you get accepted for to be part of Collective you would attend several training sessions to learn how to raise money and then be given time to put this into action before starting work. Also every member of Collective receives three months of training absolutely free so you only need to raise money to cover your own living expenses. Bargain!

What does the schools team training include?

Between September and Christmas we train our new Collective members in everything they need to know about being in a schools team; singing, dancing, communication, lesson preparation and presentation, child protection, fitness, image, sharing the gospel, ethics. All our trainees also attend evangelism training on the Message Trusts “Genetik” course.

What skills would I need to be a schools team leader?

Innervation is looking for team leaders who have experience of leadership and youth/schools work. You will responsible for heading up a team of 3 performers and liasing between churches and schools, setting up schools weeks, organising networks of volunteers, organising follow up for new Christians, running PA (full training provided) and organising the day to day running of the team.
