Collective Update
Just like they did earlier on this year in Wiltshire, thebandwithnoname performed alongside another of their sister school bands last weekend, this time Collective East Anglia. Local churches in Colchester united with CYO (the partner organisation of Collective EA) to put on a three-day festival called BeXalted, based in the Arts Centre. This building was originally a church but has now been converted into a nightclub. So there was something extra special about two of Innervation’s bands collaborating with the people of Essex to claim back that turf as holy ground. Friday night kicked off with a sensational performance from the Collective girls, featuring a cameo from tbwnn member J, and sandwiched by two brilliant DJ sets from the awesome Aorta. Saturday night was a more traditional praise and worship event with a live band and Dave Campbell guest speaking. Finally, to round things off, tbwnn came down to end the weekend with a specially extended, hour and a half set, with chipK giving the Gospel response. It was a weekend that started and ended with worshipping God, the original purpose for that building and for the people inside.

Collective update Collective Wiltshire have had an incredibly busy few months visiting schools across Wiltshire including Sheldon, Crowdys and Upland schools. Loads of kids have heard the Christian message explained in a relevant way and lots of them are now attending the Café Base follow up groups. Collective, in partnership with Ncounter trust recently pulled off the Café Base Big Bash, a day where all the kids from the Schools and Café base (follow up) and youth groups met together for a huge day of workshops, games finished off by a massive gig. The day kicked off at 10:30am with Beth hosting games on the stage followed by creative workshops including graffiti, pamper, DJ, dance, fashion, games and a vocal workshop. In the afternoon the young people were sent off to their seminars where they discussed and learnt about issues such as, how to be yourself, does image matter, what to do when your family is driving you crazy and more. The day rounded up with three hours of music and the kids danced, jumped, and rocked out to the band’s performances. The atmosphere was electric. Collective performed some of their most popular tracks and thebandwithnoname finished off the night with chipK sharing the gospel. Around 28 young people responded, 11 of them making first time commitments. |
thebandwithnoname dancers speak out Although you don’t usually get to hear much from thebandwithnoname dancers at gigs, they have quite a lot to say most of the time! Helen Kendall and Tina Mann are both now regular writers for Cross Rhythms, to check out their thoughts log on to www.crossrhythms.co.uk and click on Life Articles. You can even leave a comment to tell them what you think.

Collective radio show Collective Wiltshire have also been busy hosting a radio show on Flame FM every Thursday for 2 hours from 4-6pm during the month of May. The girls say “It’s been great fun having the 3 of us in the studio and have used the opportunity to plug God and our faith. We’ve explained who we are and our passion for young people and why we are doing our job in Wiltshire; what it is to be a Christian; what is worship and how we in full time ministry and others in secular work can make God known and be His witnesses. We’ve had a great line up of guests, one of them being Nikki’s mum who dished the dirt on what’s she really like and Ryo had great fun quizzing Liz Twigg on this.” |
tbc update tbc fans can now catch a glimpse of the girl’s brand new music as they perform at gigs, schools and festivals across the country over the next few months. The girls recently joined LZ7 and thebandwithnoname on the Hope Revolution tour and will soon be performing alongside Delirious, Kathy Burton and Replenish at the Passion event in Stoke (www.passionevent.org). tbc love to perform in primary schools, sharing the Christian message with the under 12’s. Youngsters in Hull should watch out for them over the next few weeks as the girls will be bringing their amazing singing and dancing show to schools in the area in partnership with St Martin’s church. |

Exclusive Collective Update!
Both our schools teams have been really busy in their local areas doing mission weeks in schools throughtout the Spring. Collective East Anglia did a week in Thurstable School, Tiptree. Collective have been a regular feature in the community since 2004, taking part in out-of-term clubs and church events. The school has also had regular visits from Collective, with RE and dance lessons being takne and a week long mission 3 years ago. Funnily enough, the students hadn't forgotten the girls in the band and over 80 sixth form students requested the Collective song "Bring the House Down" in their lesson on Monday, having remembered the song from when they were in year 9! The week was a huge success and sparked massive interest across the whole school. Collective took a variety of lessons and had some astounding questions from what were clearly soul-searching students. The whole week was about blowing judgements out of the water and reaping a harvest that had been growing for many years. The impact made on the students that week will never be forgotten! Here are some of the comments from students: "You are amazing girls! Your word is so powerful. I have never heard someone speak about God with fun involved. You've changed me! Maybe I'll see you in a church soon." "I think you are great, you are so fantastic. You've inspired me and made me wanna have a faith!" "You gals have really changed my perception on Christians. Thanks!" "You girlies are so awesome. I thought I wouldn't bother listening to ya when I found out that u were Christians but you can't not listen. What you say is really powerful; just the way you are, what you do and what you believe. You've changed my mind." "You lot look stunning and sound great. I never thought you lot were Christians until I heard you speak. You've got something different and I want it!"

Collective Wiltshire blitzing schools in their area Collective Wiltshire, having just returned from a relaxing Christmas break, are about to embark on a mammoth run of schools weeks. Between 5th Feb and 31st March they will be visiting 6 schools in the Wiltshire area, spending a week in each taking lessons, assemblies and doing concerts. Each schools week involves the girls getting up really early, moving PA equipment, taking assemblies, teaching, dancing, singing, selling tickets and chatting to loads and loads of kids. As you can imagine its quite an exhausting task and doing six weeks in two months is a lot of work. Please pray for the girls and for their local support team, Ncounter, as they undertake this huge task. Pray for strength, wisdom and clarity as they present the Christian message. |
Christmas Fundraiser Update We now have some photos from our Christmas Fundraiser - click here to see them. as you can see, we had a great night and many thanks to our photographer Graham Hammett, for doing such a great job! |

Vehicle Consulting gives Innervation Trust a new van! Everyone at Innervation would like to thank Simeon, Lee and everyone at Vehicle Consulting for their extremely kind provision of the brand new Innervation van seen here in the picture. We would also like to thank God for his faithfulness! We have been praying about our transport situation for a long time. . |
November update November is gearing up to be another exciting month for Innervation, including loads of schools work by the Collective schools bands and even a mission in Poland for thebandwithnoname. Julie, our new tbc team leader, has now fully settled in (despite a bout of chicken pox) and is pulling things together for the girls while the new band members are in training. Ken, our brand new technical co-ordinator, has now started at head office and is proving to be a great blessing, looking after the new van, old van and all our equipment. Collective E. Anglia are currently completing a schools week, and Collective Wiltshire are taking a week to tour the follow up cafes they have set up. They are fully booked up until Christmas, with four more schools weeks left before the holidays. thebandwithnoname will be flying off to Poland on the 14th for a mission week with NGA, an American organisation linked with the Luis Pilau association. The band will be doing schools work, possibly some prisons, and a big Friday night concert in a local night club. They are also continuing on the Serious4God tour which is taking them to all corners of the UK. It is now all hands on deck for putting our exciting Christmas fundraiser together! It looks like it will be a great night out so we’d love to see you there. Call the office to book tickets! tbc update Last month we did our first Pop Party Gig in Harlow in Essex. It was so much fun - bouncy castles, party bags, loads of sweets, karaoke and everything you could possibly want at a party was there! Prior to the gig we did a week going in and out of primary schools, being able to share about our faith and about TBC. The gig ended up being a real success with a good turn out of parents and kids. We even had sunshine!! Our next gig was in Kettering at Christ the Lord Church. This went well, and kids even came up to us at the end that really related to our testimonies. We want to keep praying for them! The event ended in a firework display, which made it even more special. Our last gig was in Berkhamstead where we performed at ReGener8. This was a presentation that we took part in - it was difficult getting the adults involved but by the end they were loving the moves! Some even bought the album and said they were going to join in the moves on the way home. YEY! Natalie T |
October update October has been a month of blessings at Innervation. We often feel a bit like we are banging our heads against a brick wall in terms of staffing, finance and vehicles but this month God has been blessing us like never before. This week we received delivery of a brand new Ford Transit van which we have been given for two years by Vehicle Consulting. The new van is an enormous blessing as for the last couple of years we have been hiring and borrowing vehicles to get to gigs. The new van is just right for fitting all the staging, costumes, merchandise, props and people in for thebandwithnoname or tbc shows. Watch this space for pictures of our new wheels! Loads of our staffing needs have also been met this month, which is a massive answer to prayer. For about two years we have all been praying for a team leader for tbc and a technical co-ordinator who could sound engineer for the touring bands and look after all our PA equipment. Julie, the new tbc team leader started this month and jumped straight into gigging in her first week. She is proving to be an amazing asset to the head office team. We also have a technical co-orinator starting at the end of the month called Ken. We really can’t wait to have someone in house who can organise, maintain and operate all our equipment for us. On top of all that we had three new trainee performers start their training with us on the 2nd of October. Lucy, Laura and Meg will be training until Christmas and once their training is finished will be working in Collective E. Anglia and tbc. All of them are women of God with full on hearts for evangelism and we can’t wait to see them in action after Christmas. So all in all its been one of those months where we have felt the, “smile of God”, to quote Andy Hawthorne. We’ve felt that things we have struggled without and prayed for over a number of years have all been provided within a short space of time, please join with us in thanking God and stand with us as we continue to pray for much needed finance and more performers to be in schools bands. Although all the schools work in Innervation Trust is usually done by the Collective schools bands, over the last few weeks thebandwithnoname have also been getting in on the action. Over three consecutive weeks the band have done schools weeks in Princes Risborough (near Oxford), Harlow and Thrapston. At the Friday night concert in Princes Risborough the young people were really excited, after having the band in school all week, answering their questions and hearing them talk about what it means to be a Christian. Lots of young people responded to the preach and the organiser rang us the following week and said that 20 kids had showed up at his church the following Sunday!! The next week was in Harlow and the boys performed in several different schools and then did a Friday night concert followed by a schools week in Thrapston (near Kettering). During the week they did lessons in four schools and did a Thursday night concert and a Friday concert in different schools. chipK said, “When I looked out at the faces of the young people who came to our final gig in Thrapston after being in their schools all week I genuinely didn’t want to leave them. Now I just pray that God would continue to make himself real to them and that the gospel would take root in their heart.“ Please pray for thebandwithnoname a they recover after such a busy time and also as they film their brand new music video. Watch this space for news of the next exciting release….. |
September update The end of September always feels like a bit of a new beginning at Innervation. The schools bands tend to have time off during the summer and the touring bands at the start of September so it all gets quiet in the office for a few weeks. But right about now everything starts buzzing again. This weekend thebandwithnoname are back on the road again (almost before the holiday jet lag has worn off), and Collective Wiltshire are back in school. thebandwithnoname are performing in Birmingham first and then travelling to Belfast as part of the Serious for God tour in partnership with Elim churches. Collective Wiltshire are completing a schools week in St Augustine’s school, Trowbridge and then working in Commonweal school, Swindon. Next week Collective E. Anglia are also in school in Ipswich despite one of the members having a sprained ankle! Its really exciting to see the schools bands so busy on the front line reaching young people across the UK. tbc are also working hard; they are entering a time of transition with a bit of a new line up and some great new show developments. Keep checking out their website www.tbcmusic.com to be the first to see all the news. Collective Manchester Innervation is really happy to be partnering with the Message Trust to launch the next Collective schools band. Collective Manchester should be up and running by September next year and will be focussing on the schools of Manchester and the North West, particularly during 2008 as part of the national “Hope 2008” campaign. Innervation and the Message have been working more and more closely over the past couple of years, sharing offices, prayer times and even some staff. It’s really exciting to be launching our first project together, Innervation will recruit and train the Collective and then the Message will do all the day to day running and management of the team. Auditions will begin imminently so any talented evangelists interested get in touch. info@innervation.org. |

June Update June has been another month of schools work and touring for the Innervation bands. thebandwithnoname and tbc have been working alongside the Message Trust at the, "Big Deal", a load of outreach events and gigs across Stockport and South Manchester (where our head office is based). Its been really exciting to be able to work locally and impact the area we all live in. The Collective schools bands have also been busy in schools all over the country. Collective East Anglia have just completed their fifth Schools mission of the year, where they worked in partnership with a local Southend church to present the gospel to the pupils of King John High School through a series of RE and music lessons. The week was so successful that Collective were called into the Head Teachers office at the end of the week and congratulated on the quality of the lessons. Having had a Collective band consistently for the previous 3 years, she commented on the positive role models that had been set to the students and how they always look forward to their visits. We are currently auditioning for the brand new Collective schools bands that will start training in the autumn this year. So any singers, rappers, dancers or team leaders who would like to be a part of this give us a shout. |

News from thebandwithnoname thebandwithnoname has recently completed a sponsorship campaign by climbing to the top of Ben Nevis in Scotland – officially the highest point in the UK. It was a gruelling experience, but the lads refused to give up, and eventually they conquered the mountain and raised funds for Innervation in the process. On the touring front, tbwnn was honoured to perform at the Royal Albert Hall on May 20 as part of the Crusaders' centenary celebration. They've also been actively involved in ‘Big Deal' – several weekends of local grassroots evangelism here in Manchester. chipK was given the opportunity to do the talk at the end of one of these events, and many responded to the Gospel message. The band has been helping out with a local lunch time club for the young people at Cheadle Hulme High School each Thursday. This has proven to be a great opportunity to move beyond the realm of the big stage, bright lights and loud music, and offer some close up ministry with the young people they feel so passionately called to reach. Please continue to pray for the band, as they prepare for the Serious4God tour this autumn. They're desperate to maintain a prophetic edge in both their live stage show as well as their new album which should be available by the end of this year. |
Innervation May update: The last month has been a really exciting one at Innervation. As well as having tbc and thebandwithnoname touring the Spring Harvest venues, we've also had all three of our schools teams fully active in the schools of their areas. I had the privilege of taking part in a school week with Collective Kent in Herne bay. We had a great week and were able to challenge lots of stereotypes about Christianity and Christians. As a team we made sure we allowed lots of time for questions at the end of the lesson. The students had some really challenging enquiries like, who made God? why did Jesus have to die? and, is it hard to be a Christian? At the end of the week loads of young people said they wanted to find out more about being Christians, and asked for prayer. The local schools worker will continue to visit the school and work with those young people to keep answering their questions and teaching them more about God. For me this schools week was a reminder of what an amazing opportunity we have here in the UK to be able to present the Christian message in schools in a way young people can understand. Every time one of our schools teams takes a lesson, more young people are able to really understand God's love for them and what Jesus did for them. Please keep praying for our teams as they work in loads of different schools over the next term. (HelenK) |
Collective Wiltshire schools week report: Collective were in Devizes School in Wiltshire from 24 th to 28 th April where we were taking lessons. Devizes is a dark area spiritually and it has 4 active witches' covens. This school has never had Christians working in it before so it was really important that we made a good impression. The teachers were very anti Christianity but despite all of this, the dance teacher warmed to us and is now using the, "Girl Like Me," breakdown as part of their dance routine for their exams!! Other teachers warmed to us as the week went on and the young people realised that Christians can actually be cool! We only met one Christian teacher who works full time at the school but he said that through Collective being in the School was able to talk to the head teacher about Christianity. The head teacher said that Collective were culturally relevant to the youth, very professional and not pushy about their faith! The Friday night concert went really well. Three kids became Christians and others are going to start attending a youth alpha which is being run at a church on Sunday nights. Me and the other Collective girls went along to one of these youth alphas to hang out with the kids and were able to getting involved in some heated debates about whether Jesus really did die. We are continuing to pray for Devizes as a whole and are praying for more Christian teachers to move to that school. One teacher said that in all the time that he has worked at Devizes; this was the best week that had experienced. As a team we all felt that the Holy Spirit was in that school and God is doing amazing things there. (Ryo) |

Nikki, Ryo and Beth spent the autumn in Manchester going through the Innervation schools team training programme and then moved to Swindon after Christmas. The band were introduced to Swindon on stage during the Innervation tour which landed in Swindon for two dates of the tour. Innervation Tour We begin 2006 in a strong, spiritual position, able to build on the foundations laid last year by the prayer-answering success of the Innervation tour! thebandwithnoname and TBC embarked together (for the first time ever) on a three-month tour of the UK that ended a week before Christmas. The two bands performed in schools, theatres and nightclubs all over the country, from Liverpool to Leicester , Southport to Southend. The tour started with a bang in Stockton-on-Tees where twenty-two kids gave their lives to Christ. From there Shell and chipK both took it in turns to preach each night and the response was really encouraging. All in all, over three hundred kids made some sort of a commitment to God! The new TBWNN line-up was well received at every gig, as were the tbc girls. The future looks excellent due to these increased opportunities to win kids into the kingdom; Let the mission continue! |
